Website Updates and Snapping Turtles

Happy Monday, everyone! Today’s post reports some recent updates to this site that I hope you’ll find interesting.

First, I’ve installed a FREE online version of my book Spend Less Now! — A Checklist Program for the Decidedly Unfrugal. You can access the table of contents page by clicking the “50+ Checklists!” tile that appears in the navagation bar above or by clicking here. This new addition will give you portable access via smartphone to a vast checklist library that will curb your spending and speed the growth of your nest egg.

Second, I’ve been spending the past few days learning HTML5 and Javascript languages at a wonderful FREE tutorial site, As my first coding project, I’ve updated the user interface at Worthometer Canada. Where an embedded Excel spreadsheet used to appear, which at least one of you found clunky, you will now see a single white box with a “Show Ranking” button. Please tell me what you think about this change. If there’s enough support for the Javascript approach, then I’ll learn me some more code and update more calculators. (Also, I apologize to all email subscribers who on Sunday received a half-prepared test version of the Canada update—I accidently clicked the publish button!).

Third, in my continuing efforts to make this site more immersive and interactive, I’ve been releasing a series of new calculators. You can access all of these in one place by clicking the “Calculators” tile that appears in the above navigation bar or by clicking here.

Fourth, when I haven’t been working through code tutorials, I’ve been biking the paths in and around Boulder and Longmont, Colorado. Early retirement is good! Here’s a photo of a 24″ snapping turtle that I almost ran over. I’m happy to say he/she was unharmed. And I’m also happy to say that I was able to snap a snapper. 😉 Have a great week!

How have I not heard of w3schools, I’m always looking to get better on the technical side of it, I’m currently at a 1 out of 10, so only can go up.

You’re a programming expert compared to where i was last week. Thanks for stopping by ES!

Turning into a fellow propeller head are you? Nice!

I love the enhancements you’ve made to tools and calculators (accessible and sleek – no unnecessary “fat”).

Sounds like you’re making the most of summer – excellent! Snapping turtles seem to enjoy discovering our pond…and our koi and goldfish *sigh*. That’s what we get for having a backyard by the river.
